The 12B4A is a miniiature low-mu triode designed primarily for service as a vertical-deflection amplifer in TV receivers The tube features high plate current at relatively low plate voltages and is capable of withstaning the high pulse voltages normally encountered in this application.

Except for the controlled hearer warm-up time characteristic, 12B4A is the same as a 12B4.
